June 2020 | Bloomberg's New Voices Launch

Introduction

Bloomberg is committed to diversity in the newsroom. In 2018, Bloomberg launched its New Voices initiative to increase the representation of women sources in both online and on-air content. The program includes the establishment of a definitive global list of women experts in finance and business, a system to track diverse sourcing, and the funding of media training for top women executives and other under-represented voices.

In 2019, the media training initiative took place in New York, Toronto, London, Hong Kong, San Francisco, Sydney, Dubai and Mumbai. This year, the initiative will expand to Washington, D.C. and Singapore.

We are pleased to share their New Voices initiative, which will continue in 2020. Please register for the call to learn more about the program and we encourage you to apply or nominate someone who you believe will benefit from the program. Details are below.

About the 2020 Program

In times of crisis, it is even more critical that the media provides a diversity of views and perspectives in its coverage.

At Bloomberg News, this remains a priority and they are thrilled to announce the New Voices media training program in Australia for a second year. Bloomberg has funded media training for more than 150 female executives, economists, portfolio managers and finance professionals in major cities around the world over the past two years. In 2020, the aim is to provide that opportunity to another 100 women and surpass 30% female representation on Bloomberg's global TV programming by year’s end.

Please join Bloomberg at the virtual launch presentation on June 9, 2020 to learn more about the program, hear insights from past New Voices participants and get an overview of their TV operations.
